Professional wrestler Jay Briscoe died at the age of 38 in a car accident in Laurel, Delaware on Tuesday.
AEW owner Tony Khan announced the tragic news on Twitter Tuesday, writing, “Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away,” using the wrestler’s real name.
“Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show to today,” Khan said. ‘Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day. We will do what we can to support your family. Rest in peace Jamin.

The news was confirmed by the wrestling spotter Dave Meltzer, who said the crash happened at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
