Jaxon Smith-Njigba made a spectacular catch against the 49ers on Thursday night as his Seahawks attempted a comeback at home.

With Seattle trailing 24-10 in the third quarter, quarterback Geno Smith sailed a pass to the rookie receiver along the sideline.

And Smith-Njigba did extremely well to make the grab, getting behind San Francisco’s Deommodore Lenoir before stretching for a one-handed catch.

‘Oh dear! Have you seen this catch?’ exclaimed NBC’s color commentator Cris Collinsworth.

The play went 34 yards and Seattle kicked a field goal later in the drive, cutting San Francisco’s lead to 11.

That’s the closest the hosts would get, though, as the 49ers pulled off a 31-13 victory with a 28-yard touchdown against Brandon Aiyuk with 7:51 left in the fourth quarter.

Smith-Njigba had just two catches on the night, but led the Seahawks with 41 receiving yards.

His quarterback, Smith, was 18 of 27 for 180 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.

With Seattle running back Kenneth Walker III out due to an oblique injury, rookie running back Zach Charbonnet led the Seahawks with 47 rushes on 14 carries and had a team-high four receptions (for 11 yards).

The Seahawks had just one first down and 11 yards of total offense in the first half before Smith drove them into field goal range in the final seconds of the period.

However, Jason Myers’ 53-yard attempt faded just right.

Seattle got a boost from its defense early in the third quarter when Jordyn Brooks intercepted a tipped pass and returned it 12 yards for a touchdown, but the Seahawks ultimately fell short that night.
