Jason Sudeikis reunites with Ted Lasso co-star Hannah Waddingham for powerful duet of A Star Is Born track Shallow at benefit concert

Jason Sudeikis reunites with his Ted Lasso colleague Hannah Waddingham for a powerful duet of the song A Star Is Born, Shallow.

The duo took the stage during Thundergong!, a benefit concert held by Sudeikis that raises money for uninsured and underinsured amputees.

Video of the moment shows Jason initially starting the song with Will Forte, 53, before Hannah, an accomplished singer and musical theater veteran, stepped in with her powerful vocals.

“There’s no one else I’d rather do this song with,” Jason, 48, told Will before starting the song.

Just as Will was about to start singing, Hannah, 49, appeared on stage. Her adoring fans roared with joy as she delivered the touching love song in her goosebump-inducing voice.

Meanwhile, poor Will looked playfully dejected after being pushed aside by Hannah. In the background, Will was seen trying to reason with him.

Hannah and Jason had fans in the palms of their hands as they belted out the lyrics with the live band behind them.

When the song was over, they shared a hug before Jason shouted out to his friends. ‘Hannah Waddingham! Ladies and gentlemen, Will Forte!’

Sudeikis’ annual concert benefits the Steps of Faith Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing prosthetic care, hope and comfort to amputees in need of financial support. We help uninsured and underinsured amputees get the prosthetics they need,” according to their website.

The original Shallow song was famously performed by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in their 2018 hit film A Star Is Born. The song was awarded Best Original Song at the Oscars.

Jason and Hannah co-starred in the hit Apple TV series Ted Lasso, a comedy show that follows an inexperienced American as he struggles to coach a fictional London soccer club.

Jason played the titular coach Ted Lasso, while Hannah played Rebecca Welton, the owner of his soccer club.

The beloved series came to an end last year after three seasons.

In March, Jason admitted there were “a lot of tears” during the show’s final day of filming.

Speaking in an interview with EW, he explained, “Lots of tears, lots of cheering, lots of clapping. It felt like a real sports team after their last game.

“But without really knowing if we had won or lost, which, as Ted says, isn’t really the most important thing, so in many ways we won.”

Jason continued, “Everyone came to the locker room. It was a great moment of connection. It felt like a highlight, and it’s definitely a fond memory of this whole experience.”

He described the sentiment as “a call to arms,” adding that the cast and crew will take the series “wherever any of us go.”
