Jason Sudeikis tried his hometown hot sauce Da Bomb Beyond Insanity on Thursday’s season premiere of the YouTube interview show Hot Ones.
The 47-year-old actor was interviewed by Hot Ones host Sean Evans, 37, as the two of them ate 10 increasingly spicy hot wings during the season 21 premiere.
The signature hot sauce of the Spicin’ Foods show Da Bomb in Kansas City, Kansas, was their eighth wing, and Jason, who grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, was ready for it.
“Let’s go to Kansas City, Kansas. This is the side I’m from, you know for those who care about distinction,” said the Ted Lasso star who wore a blue sweatshirt and brown newsboy cap throughout the show.
Jason bit his hot wing as dramatic music played in the background and an image revealed that Da Bomb Beyond Insanity hot sauce had a Scoville level of 135,600.

“Yeah, who cares,” Jason said as the taste kicked in. ‘Oh, sir. Yes, human. And there are two more.’
A fiery image read “Welcome to Hell Moment” as Jason reached for his napkin.
“Yeah dude, that’s crazy. I know this is something everyone is talking about, but yeah,’ Jason said as he drank a glass of water.
Sean took part in the Big Slick charity event Jason co-founded last year to benefit Children’s Mercy Kansas City and they were amazed at the support from restaurants.
“It’s amazing how the city surrounds and supports us,” said Jason.
Sean asked him to describe his ideal Kansas City barbecue crawl, and Jason rattled off his local favorites, including: Gates, Kansas City Joe’s, Q-39, and Arthur Bryant’s Barbecue.
Jason, after tasting Da Bomb, was asked by Sean if it was “a point of pride or an abomination”?
“I think it’s definitely a point of pride,” Jason replied.

A close-up of the bottle with the image of the atomic bomb was shown as Jason described it.
‘It’s a great name. It’s a terrifying bottle with a nuclear warhead on it. …It’s just a disgusting sauce. It hurts in your mouth and probably in moments in your stomach and ass,” Jason said.
Jason ate all 10 hot wings and even added an extra bit of Apollo to his last one.
He went back for more of Da Bomb, later admitting it was an act of hubris inspired by his hometown pride.
“Shouldn’t have done that, don’t know why I did,” Jason said.
Sean also previously asked Jason if he was an open hater of Saturday Night Live before joining the sketch comedy ensemble himself.
“They would never let me play football at Notre Dame, I would never play basketball at KU, so how could I ever work on Saturday Night Live?” Jason recalled his reasoning. So yeah, let’s hate it. It wasn’t so much hate because I had heroes on that show. I had friends on that show at the time. I had a specific reason I tried to articulate why but I think deep down I was just protecting myself from the possibility of not achieving something like ‘boy oh boy wouldn’t it be neat if I did ”.
Sean noted that Jason and Bob Odenkirk, 60, were the only two people he heard openly dismissive of SNL.
Jason was proud to be in the company as Odenkirk and said he loved the comedian.
The interview session reminded Jason of his 2011 movie Hall Pass with Owen Wilson, 54, which featured a sports bar scene with hot wings.
“We did a scene that takes place in a sports bar and we eat wings. It was the first time I was in a major studio movie, like “lead Owen and I are on the postery thing.” We go around and we shoot like all the people around,” Jason said.
“You know you have to keep moving the camera. You have the time and money they usually do for studio films and there were hot wings… So we eat these wings, I eat them with the camera on Owen,” he added.

Jason admitted that he wasn’t familiar with major studio filming protocols, so he stayed for dinner and Owen came over.
“At one point I’m eating them and he’s like ‘Gee, you just put everything in your body,'” Jason said while imitating the actor.
“I’m like, ‘oh, yeah.'” He says, “I’d be so curious to see what you look like if you actually worked out and took care of yourself,” Jason said with a laugh.
Jason and former fiancée Olivia Wilde, 39, split in 2020 and they share daughter Daisy, six, and son Otis, nine.
