Brisbane high school teacher charged with rape and grooming

A high school teacher who allegedly used the social media app Snapchat to chat with a 14-year-old girl has been charged with rape and grooming.

Jason Lee, 29, a high school teacher in Logan, Brisbane, was arrested on July 11.

On July 10, a report was made to police. The next day, officers searched an address in Underwood.

Lee was granted bail and has since been charged with two counts of rape and one count of enticing a child under 16.

It is alleged that the teacher met the 14-year-old girl twice in June and sent messages to the girl via Snapchat.

Lee has been working full-time as a teacher since 2018.

Lee graduated from Queensland University of Technology in 2017.

The 29-year-old must answer to the Wynnum court on September 16.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have had a similar experience to come forward as their investigation continues.
