Jason Kelce surprises unsuspecting fans on Venice Beach while filming segment for new late night talk show

Jason Kelce surprised Venice Beach residents on Friday after he took to the streets to interview random guests during a segment for his upcoming late night talk show.

The retired NFL star, 37, was seen filming outtakes in the LA neighborhood ahead of his new ESPN show, “They Call it Late Night with Jason Kelce,” set to premiere in January.

Exclusive footage from DailyMail.com gives a taste of what’s to come, showing the former Philadelphia Eagles center approaching and engaging unsuspecting fans on the street.

Kelce, who already hosts a sports podcast with his famous brother Travis, showed his comedic side by asking the interviewees funny questions or challenges.

Some were asked to sing, hum or play an instrument of their favorite song.

The retired NFL star interviewed Canadian tourist Stacey Weltman who called her father to talk to the Kelce during the segment

During an interview, he was overheard introducing himself to someone and saying, “I’m Taylor Swift’s boyfriend’s brother.”

In another clip, the athlete turned talk show host sang the fight song “Fly, Eagles Fly” with a fan.

However, some of his interview subjects, such as a tourist couple from Japan, seemed completely unaware that they were being questioned by the famous athlete.

But overall, it was clear that Kelce was an entertaining and funny host, who made his guests laugh with his crazy antics on camera.

Kelce announced his new hosting gig the night before during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday.

Describing it as a “celebration” with sports legends, friends and celebrities, Kelce revealed that the hour-long show will air at 1am on ESPN.

The impromptu interview was particularly exciting for Weltman, a fan of Travis Kelce, and Swiftie, who had seen Taylor Swift perform in Toronto a few days earlier.

The series will be taped in front of a live studio audience in Philadelphia for five consecutive Friday nights beginning January 3.

Speaking about his performance the night before during filming on Friday he said: ‘The best advice Jimmy Kimmel gave me when I left his show last night is I told him I missed showering with the boys after a game and he said that I had to do a shower segment on the show.’

“I like talking to regular people,” the former football star added.

When asked if he would like to have a sidekick on the show, he said, “I’m thinking Dan Campbell’s brother.”

The man-on-the-street segment also seemed to generate positive reactions from fans in Venice Beach.

“Jason is a funny guy. He walked towards the public showers on the beach looking into the camera and said he was going to take a shower,” a witness told DailyMail.com.

“He just took off his shirt, leaving the beer belly quite visible.”

The experience was particularly exciting for Stacey Weltman, who was visiting from Canada and had just attended a Taylor Swift concert in Toronto a few days earlier.

“I can’t believe I just got interviewed by Jason Kelce,” she told DailyMail.com.

‘At first I didn’t want to come here because I wanted to see a Taylor Swift concert this weekend, and then this happens.

“I take it as a sign that I was meant to be here. I’m a big fan of Taylor Swift and also a big fan of Jason’s wife. Travis was really nice.”
