Jason Kelce says New Heights helped him and Travis grow closer together and claims they ‘haven’t been this connected since college’ – as he reveals they would go MONTHS without talking before the podcast

Jason Kelce admitted that having a podcast with his younger brother Travis has been beneficial to their brotherly relationship.

The Kelce brothers launched their podcast “New Heights” in September 2022 and it has since become the #1 sports podcast on Spotify and Apple Music. The Philadelphia Eagles star made an appearance on Friday Green Light with Chris Long and said their weekly football program has brought him and Travis closer together.

“It was fun to do it another year and talk to my brother,” Kelce said. “I haven’t been this connected to Travis in the past two years since college.”

“And that was one of the best things, probably the best, about the podcast. It forces us – because we are brothers, before we would be alone for months without talking. We texted, sent a funny video, but to actually sit down and talk to him would take a long time.”

Due to the podcast’s continued success, Kelce gave credit to those working behind the scenes and explained how he and Travis had to do “minimal” work. He also acknowledged how they have gotten better at running the program over time.

Kelce appeared on Green Light and said they haven’t been this connected “since college.”

“They took care of everything for us, (our) intern Brandon does a phenomenal job,” Jason said.

“It’s been great, it’s the second year, we’ve gotten a lot better at it, I think. First and foremost, I feel like we have a great team; our input is very minimal, we just talk.’

Jason and Travis both attended the University of Cincinnati during their collegiate careers. The two went their separate ways in 2011 when Jason was drafted by the Eagles. Two years later, Travis joined him in the NFL, but moved more than 1,000 miles away in Kansas City.

The brothers have found a lot of success in their professional careers, with Jason winning a Super Bowl and Travis one win away from his third.

The New Heights podcast also played a big role in Travis’ high-profile relationship with pop star Taylor Swift.

In July, the Chief tight end revealed on the podcast that he tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number during her show in Kansas City. Months later, the power couple started dating and made their relationship public in September.

Jason then commented on the conversations they share on the program, including conversations about Travis’ love life.

“If you do this, you know we’re going to sit down and talk once a week,” Jason said. And we get to have very meaningful conversations, fun conversations and really know where each of us are in our lives and that’s the best part about it.

“It has reached the next level thanks to many different factors, including my brother’s love life. But I like to see people enjoying it and it’s nice to see where it is.”
