Jason Kelce reveals why he PUNCHED brother Travis in the face in heated fistfight and shares Chiefs star’s furious reaction
Jason Kelce addressed a heated exchange between him and his Kansas City Chiefs brother, Travis Kelce.
Jason and Travis are two of the most famous brothers to ever play in the NFL, and their popular podcast New Heights has showcased their close bond on and off the field.
However, Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason recently admitted that the duo, like any other pair of brothers, faced their fair share of sibling rivalry growing up.
Before making it to the NFL, the Kelces seemed to nurture their competitive side at home, causing tensions to run high at times.
Jason, who announced his retirement from the NFL earlier this year, recounted a rare incident in which he and his brother got into a fight on an episode of Shaquille O’Neal’s ‘The Big Podcast.’

The former center said he once let his frustrations get the better of him and deliberately fouled his younger brother, who was scoring too many points for his liking during a game of basketball in their backyard. Travis didn’t take it well.
“We were out in the yard and he just started driving around and taking these stupid pictures,” Jason said.
‘He does it all the time and I can’t do anything about it. So I’m just going to insult him, the only way I know to stop it.
‘So he says, “That’s nonsense, that’s a foul.” I think, “I don’t see any referee here, I don’t see anyone calling that.”
‘He takes the ball, throws it to me, he goes in the house. I go in there, I grab him by the shoulder and I hit him.’
Jason insisted it was only the second time he had grabbed Travis and then described how furious his brother reacted.
“Listen, we fought every time,” Jason said. “This was only the second time I hit him. I don’t know how it got so heated. Hitting him in the face. Every time before that he was crying or something.
“He took that hit, picked me up and threw me on the kitchen floor so hard the oven fell off the tracks. I get up, we’re in a full-blown fist fight.”
Jason and Travis have become two of the most famous brothers to grace the NFL
Fortunately, the brothers have grown up and have worked through their intense conflicts. They have shown each other their love several times.
While Jason gave his retirement speech in March after a stellar 13-year career with the Eagles, Travis was spotted wiping away tears while sitting front row with his parents Ed and Donna.
During the speech, Jason talked about how they used to play football with Travis in the backyard. He also recalled the emotion he felt when he got drafted into the NFL, and when Travis got drafted two years later.
Jason even played a key role in Travis’ draft, convincing Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid to take a chance on the younger (slightly wilder) Kelce brother.
The coach was confident in Travis’ ability on the field, but the University of Cincinnati team’s season-long suspension for multiple positive marijuana tests was a stumbling block.
But Jason, who was also drafted by Reid to the Philadelphia Eagles, played a key role in convincing the veteran coach to take a risk on his brother.
But despite all the love, the brothers can’t help but tear each other apart – even if it’s more of an argument than an outright fight.
Recently, Jason had a hilarious reaction to Patrick Mahomes’ trick pass to Travis during a practice game against the Detroit Lions this past weekend.

Travis Kelce’s older brother – Jason – shared his reaction to Mahomes’ wizardry in a post on X
The Chiefs quarterback dared to throw a behind-the-back pass on the second drive of Saturday’s 24-23 home loss, catching the Lions’ defense off guard as Kelce successfully connected on third-and-3 at Detroit’s 33-yard line.
The pass went for 9 yards and a first down, and eventually led to a field goal.
After seeing footage of the play, Jason himself took to social media to say, “This motherfucker really did it!! Magic Mahomes.”
He later added, commenting on footage of Mahomes’ postgame interview: “If Pat starts throwing passes behind Travis’ back every time he takes the wrong route, this could be the most exciting year in football yet.”
