Jason Kelce reveals advice he gave wife Kylie before she launched her podcast that toppled Joe Rogan
Jason Kelce has revealed the advice he gave his wife Kylie before she launched her hugely successful podcast ‘Not Gonna Lie’.
The former Philadelphia Eagles star was well placed to help his wife given the huge success of his New Heights show with his younger brother, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis.
In the first few weeks of Kylie’s show, she’s toppled Joe Rogan at the top of the charts and while there’s still a long way to go before she consistently beats the podcast giant, it’s an exciting start to her new venture.
“She’s killing it,” Jason said in an interview to people. ‘It doesn’t surprise me. She has been the smartest in the family for a long time.
‘People have been asking her opinion for a long time. And when she comes on our podcast, those episodes tend to be the most watched. So I expected her to be fine and hopefully it stays that way.
“The only advice I gave her was, ‘Make sure you do what you want to do with the show.’ It takes a lot of people, especially to create a podcast or something that’s recorded. You work with many people who are experts in their field.
Jason Kelce is full of admiration for his wife Kylie and the early success of her podcast
Jason said he believes Kylie’s authenticity has helped the public warm to her
‘I think Kylie is a very authentic person. I think she’s very real. And I think that’s what makes people connect with her. And I think she’s very smart, funny, charismatic, beautiful. So I think when you combine all those qualities, people enjoy listening to her.”
Kylie’s success comes amid her recent pregnancy announcement, with the couple expecting their fourth child – a fourth daughter – later in 2025.
Jason has since adjusted to life outside the NFL after tearfully announcing his retirement last year after 13 years with the Eagles.
The success of New Heights keeps him busy — a new $100 million deal to produce the show was signed by him and Travis last year — while also working with ESPN.
Kelce is a regular guest on their Monday Night Football coverage and launched his own talk show on the channel last week.
Its ratings aren’t quite on par with those of Kylie’s podcast: its first week only attracted about 290,000 viewers.
