Jason Kelce denies falling asleep at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show and reveals why his eyes were closed

Jason Kelce has hilariously denied falling asleep at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in Miami last week.

The former Philadelphia Eagles star headed to Hard Rock Stadium with wife Kylie and their daughters Wyatt, 5, and Elliotte, 3, to support the pop megastar and brother Travis’ girlfriend.

He was also captured enjoying a beer with friend and former Eagles teammate Beau Allen first of Swift’s three shows in Miami last weekend.

But as Taylor performed some of her biggest hits in front of thousands of adoring fans, a photo posted by Allen appeared to show Jason turning a blind eye in the stands.

It quickly circulated on social media, but during the latest episode of the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast, Jason insisted he was awake the entire time.

He explained: ‘It was so exciting, but back to this photo. I’m going to give some background information on this.

“Kylie is holding Elliotte. She was just with me. We were dancing and I sat down, so I’m on the same level with her. We’re out here in the open and we brought some people to the show because people have been asking us, Mom went for the first time.

‘We go outside and I realize I’m standing in the open air. It’s not like a box that’s enclosed, so I’m like, “I’m going to sit down.” It feels like I’m standing and holding Elliotte, it feels like I’m in a fishbowl and everyone is staring at me, so I just sit down.

‘I dance with Elliotte, she goes to Kylie and then I just sit here and just feel it. I tap my thigh and I’m just listening to the song and then all of a sudden I go on Twitter and I see this damn picture.

“I’m like, ‘Dude, what the heck.’ I don’t even sleep and I can prove it to you. There is evidence in this photo that I am not sleeping.’

Travis asks his brother, “Are you calling Beau Allen a liar?”

Jason replies, “Beau didn’t say I was asleep. He just posted the photo. Zoom in on the photo. My hand is floating. You can’t sleep if your hand is hovering above your knee. It’s impossible.

“This is one of my favorite parts of the show because the mist from the rain started hitting my face. Elliotte was with mom, so I was like, “Okay. I’m just sitting here, tapping my leg and just being in the moment.”

‘I invite Beau Allen and his mother, it’s her birthday, and then suddenly a friendly fire. I try to wait a moment and then I see this. Betrayed by one of my best friends.”

Despite the viral photo, Jason looked a lot more energetic later in the evening after he was captured singing along to Swift’s famous song ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’.

Later, he could be seen breaking out his signature dance moves and transitioning into his favorite song from Swift’s extensive discography, “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.”

In a viral clip, Jason was caught shaking his hips and flapping his arms up and down – one of three dance moves his wife Kylie claims to have in his repertoire.

Meanwhile, “Princess Kyana” — as Jason and Travis affectionately call Kylie — channeled her inner Miss Americana.

The mother of three posed for a selfie next to Allen, who captioned the Instagram story “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince,” referencing Swift’s song from her 2019 album “Lover.”

Jason and Kylie’s two young girls also seemed to enjoy the evening as they danced and sang along in their bejeweled dresses and headphones to protect their ears.
