Before that evening’s Monday Night Football festivities began, the Monday Night Countdown crew decided to have some fun with panelist Jason Kelce.
This past weekend the city of Philadelphia hosted a ‘Jason Kelce lookalike contest’ where many a bearded white man gathered to be judged to see who came closest in appearance to the former Eagles center.
The competition seemed to attract people from all over Connecticut as they all took part in the festivities.
It seems like Kelce himself was the only person who didn’t completely agree with the situation.
When the broadcast started showing footage of the contestants, Kelce complained that they all looked like him.
“News flash: every overweight white man with a beard looks just like me! What are we talking about?,” Kelce announced.

‘It’s an easy competition. There is absolutely nothing unique about these gentlemen, other than the fact that they are large people with beards and fair skin tones.”
After showing the results of the competition – where the panel disagreed with the winner – host Scott Van Pelt offered some self-deprecating humor.
“Hey, listen, we’re all in the content room. 10 years on SportsCenter, every bald white guy with glasses, we made something of it, so don’t spill any content,” Van Pelt said.
Kelce was unmoved: “Do you know how discouraging it is to know that there is nothing unique about you at all? [and that] Thousands of people look like you.’
Ryan Clark, who was also on the panel, made one comment to cheer Kelce up.
“Don’t worry… just wear that gold jacket, they don’t give it out for free,” the former cornerback said, referring to the blazers Hall of Famers receive when they are inducted.
Kelce played all thirteen NFL seasons in Philadelphia and became a local cult figure for his warm character and football talent. Kelce retired earlier this year after making six first-team All-Pro selections and seven Pro Bowl selections in a Philly jersey.
