Jason Donovan reveals how he feels about Amazon reviving Neighbors just months after it was axed, after Kylie Minogue “believed she was tricked” into returning for the finale with her former co-star.

Jason Donovan has finally broken his silence on reviving Amazon. Neighbors just a few months after the soap was dropped and he filmed a special finale with his former co-star Kylie Minogue.

The show’s biggest stars returned for the so-called finale, which aired in October 2022.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Kylie, whose career took off while playing mechanic Charlene Robinson from 1986-1988, felt “tricked” into returning.

Speaking on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa with Katie Richie, Jason said it was surprising the show was revived so quickly, but he’s happy for the team that was able to keep their jobs.

“I’ll be honest with you, it was a surprise,” he said.

“But… I think anything that provides an opportunity to keep people working, actors and producers and all that kind of stuff.”

Jason, who played Scott Robinson on the iconic soap opera, married Kylie’s character Charlene Mitchell on-screen and the actors later developed an off-screen relationship.

Their relationship, which lasted three years, was highly publicized and many Neighbors fans were very excited to see them together on screen once again.

When asked what it was like to work with Kylie again, Jason said: “It’s beautiful.” It’s amazing. Obviously, Kylie and I were a big part of that story.

But a lot has happened since then. What I will say is that nostalgia is huge right now.

‘It’s hard to see, isn’t it? Knowing that we will never see another episode again,” she said, as part of a tribute to the late-night show.

“A painful reminder that the things we love can be taken away, never to return… unless Amazon comes to save the day and makes our end look like a pretty costly exercise.

‘I do not want to say [it was a] waste of time. But still, I’m sure Margot [Robbie] be happy.’
