Jason Derulo SLAMMED for filming Ibiza fire for an Instagram post – as he compares blaze to a ‘toxic ex’: ‘What’s wrong with you?’
Jason Derulo has been criticized after setting a fire in Ibiza as a metaphor for getting back with a ‘toxic ex’.
The Instagram video shows a cloud of smoke rising from a fire in the distance before Jason emerges from his palatial poolside accommodation with a drink in hand.
“Fire,” he wrote next to the cloud of smoke with a skull emoji.
“Walking back to my ex,” he added as he happily started walking out.
The video was posted on Tuesday and has since received backlash from fans who were offended that Derulo had used fire for a silly video.

The fire that Jason filmed took place on Tuesday in a warehouse near Ibiza airport
‘What’s wrong with you? Before you publish, you should first think about the people who suffered from the fire of a company in Ibiza,” said a fan.
“Second, the video is not funny at all and I assume you had the conscience to apologize and delete the video. I don’t understand why a video has to be made about an accident like a fire to get likes. I hope you’ll think about it again.’
A follower told Jason there was a fire in a warehouse near Ibiza airport and claimed people had lost their jobs as a result of the disaster.
“Jason isn’t funny. the place that caught fire is called Citubo and is an important reference for the island. many people have now lost money and jobs. a little respect,” one person posted.
Another upset follower posted: ‘I don’t know what’s funny in this video? Something so important to us is the forests and you’re acting strange as if nothing happened? I find it in very bad taste…I hope you don’t come back to the island @jasonderulo.’
The video was labeled ‘disgusting’ by an offended viewer.
‘This is just disgusting! Allow this to happen over the misery of a fellow Ibiza company?!?!’ another wrote.
‘It’s just been proven that you have absolutely no respect for this island and its inhabitants, man! You don’t belong here, just go and never come back!’ one posted.

Others were upset because they thought Derulo was referring to his ex-girlfriend Jena Frumes, with whom he shares three-year-old son Jason King.
‘Toxic ex? Are you serious? Are you saying your child’s mother is toxic? Shame on you, Jason!’ wrote one.
“Unfortunately for you…your ex is as good as it gets,” another posted, tagging Jena in the comment.

Instagram users were furious that Jason had used the fire as a prank
Derulo, who broke up with social media star Jena months after their son was born in 2021, performed in Ibiza shortly before Tuesday’s warehouse fire.
No lives were lost, but the building of supply company Citubo was gutted, leaving 42 families facing an uncertain future.
The fire broke out around noon local time on Tuesday. Local police had to rescue a woman who lived next to the warehouse.
Ibiza Council chairman Vicent Mari visited the gutted remains of the family business last night.
He expressed regret afterwards that it had “affected 42 families who were left without work and razed a 5,000 square meter warehouse.”
