Jason Demetriou is SACKED by South Sydney Rabbitohs after terrible start to NRL season

Jason Demetriou has been sacked by South Sydney Rabbitohs after the club’s terrible start to the season.

The club’s hierarchy held a board meeting on Tuesday evening which ended with the decision to terminate the coach’s contract with immediate effect.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, assistant coach Ben Hornby is expected to take on first-team duties for the remainder of the season as the club searches for Demetriou’s successor.

Wayne Bennett is the leading contender to take over, while Craig Bellamy and club hero Sam Burgess have also been linked with the top job.
