Jason Cummings is getting the Christmas present he’s always wanted after revealing that Olivier Giroud is posting one of his jerseys for him following his hilarious World Cup mix-up.
Earlier this week, Cummings claimed on The Project that the former Chelsea and Arsenal star pretended he couldn’t understand English when the Socceroos star asked for his shirt after Australia’s World Cup loss to France in Qatar.
That forced Giroud to take to Twitter to clarify that he had already agreed to swap jerseys with Cummings’ teammate Jackson Irvine, tweeting: “How’s my English partner?” to the midfielder.

And now Mariners forward Cummings says he has been in direct contact with the 36-year-old, who promised to send an AC Milan jersey to Australia.
It was a bit twisted when people thought that Giroud told me that he didn’t speak English. That was not the case,” Cummings told The Saturday Morning Mowers Club.
“He probably didn’t understand me because I speak Scottish and sometimes I say gibberish.” ‘He just didn’t understand me or something, I’m not really sure. It was just a misunderstanding.

The 36-year-old clarified that he had already agreed to a trade with Jackson Irvine.
But it’s all settled now. In fact, yesterday I woke up to a message from the main man, Oli G, Olivier Giroud. In fact, he messaged me on Instagram and it turns out he’s a great guy.
“He has offered to send me an AC Milan shirt and apologized for the misunderstanding and stuff.
‘It shows that he’s actually a good guy. I said I’m going to send him a Mariners jersey. Turns out we’re best friends now. So I got the last laugh.
The 27-year-old rubbed shoulders with some of the world’s best footballers in Qatar, with Lionel Messi willing to pose for a photo with the affable striker.

Cummings has joked that he and the French veteran are ‘best friends now’
Cummings has become a cult hero since moving Down Under from Scotland, dazzling the Central Coast Mariners and being a popular figure with fans.
Ahead of Sunday’s World Cup final, Cummings messaged his new friend, Messi, on Instagram, leaving fans in stitches.
Posting an image of the pair embracing after the Socceroos were eliminated, Cummings wrote: ‘Get the basics right Leo. Don’t play the chance, play the game. All the best, Cumdog.
“I think I deserve a lot of credit (for Messi’s World Cup performance) – he definitely checked his phone just before, he saw the Cumdog appear on his Instagram there,” Cummings said with a wide smile.
“It checked it out and gave him that extra motivation.”
