Fallen NRL star Jarryd Hayne has made a huge anti-vaccine statement on social media in which he appears to support tennis superstar Novak Djokovic’s stance against the Covid-19 jab.

It comes just after Hayne learned that he will face a third trial for alleged sexual assault on March 6 in Sydney.

Hayne, 34, took to Instagram on Tuesday and shared a post from satirical page The Barbeque Bulletin.

The image shows Djokovic and American business magnate Bill Gates, who attended the Australian Open final which the Serb won.

It also had the caption accompanying it: “An unvaccinated man wins the Aus Open against a man who wants to vaccinate the entire planet.”

Hayne, whose personal vaccination status is unknown, added three fire emojis to the post, signaling his support for Djokovic, who has long refused to take the jab.

The former Parramatta Eels fullback is not the only football star to have voiced his opposition to Covid vaccines.

Hayne’s trial next month will be his third over allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman on September 30, 2018.

After three days of jury deliberations, Hayne was convicted last year and sentenced to five years and nine months in prison, with a non-parole period of three years and eight months.

The former Dally M winner was held at Cooma Correctional Center for nine months before his conviction was overturned by the New South Wales Court of Criminal Appeals and he was released.

A new trial was then ordered.

Hayne has always denied the accusations and has maintained her innocence.
