Janitor at New Jersey elementary school is arrested after ‘lacing canteen food with bleach, urine and FECES – and posting lewd acts with inanimate objects on social media while working’ – as children have reported diarrhea and vomiting

A New Jersey elementary school custodian has been arrested on charges that he mixed the cafeteria food with bleach, urine, saliva and feces.

Giovanni Impellizzeri, 25, has been charged with child endangerment, aggravated assault and food tampering at Elizabeth Moore School in the Upper Deerfield School District.

School authorities contacted police on Monday after receiving a tip-off about social media posts showing Impellizzeri allegedly performing sexual acts with “inanimate objects” in the building.

Investigators allege he contaminated the food and utensils in the school cafeteria with bodily fluids, including urine, saliva and feces.

Impellizzeri is even said to have sprayed bleach into a container full of cucumbers with the intention of harming children.

The janitor has been charged with child endangerment, aggravated assault and food tampering at Elizabeth Moore School in the Upper Deerfield School District.

Police said Impellizzeri also used bread to touch his genitals, spit on it and then put it back in a container so it could be served to students.

“This is a public health crisis right now. We don’t know who or where he has been,” parent Rachel Jenkins said ABC7.

While Cristencia Jenkins, whose child attends Elizabeth Moore School, said: “Kids are getting sick, having diarrhea and vomiting, and we blame it on stomach flu, when really it could be hepatitis, it could be food poisoning.

“Like, who knows what else he puts in there?”

Impellizzeri is currently in hospital and will have a detention hearing on Monday.

The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office said Impellizzeri committed these acts while working as a janitor at the school and has worked there since September 2019.

Investigators are working to determine exactly when the incidents occurred.

Parents are angry at the school after Impellizzeri’s arrest Tuesday, saying they only heard about it Wednesday.

They automatically received a call that an employee was on leave.

The school district reportedly did not contact the health department until Thursday.

The school sent a text message to parents asking for information and claiming no students were involved.

“When there’s bodily fluids and all that other stuff going around, that’s direct involvement,” parent John Wojtowicz said.

A group of parents who came to pick up their children were addressed by the manager in the parking lot on Friday. But a petition was started to fire the school official.

Officials say the school district is working with the Department of Health to ensure food preparation areas, surfaces and utensils have been properly disinfected and that food has been disposed of.

Samples are being taken from Impellizzeri to see if he has any diseases that can be transmitted.

“For now, parents of students and others who may have consumed contaminated food should contact their healthcare provider if they show signs of illness, especially severe illness,” the Department of Health said in a statement.
