Janis Timma dead at 32: Latvian basketball player ‘found in stairwell of Moscow apartment building’ on his ex-wife’s birthday

Latvian basketball player Janis Timma has been found dead after falling from an apartment building in Moscow.

The 32-year-old, who played for the likes of Zenit St Petersburg and Olympiacos during a successful Euro League career, was found in the stairwell of a residential home, local reports claim.

Timma’s untimely death occurred on the birthday of his ex-wife, Ukrainian singer and actor Anna Sedokova. Indeed, it has been reported that a phone with a message from Sedokova was found next to Timma when his body was discovered on Monday.

Neither the authorities nor his representatives have issued a statement on the cause of death.
