Janice Dickinson quits I’m A Celeb after being rushed to hospital following off-air horror fall

Janice Dickinson has reportedly been forced to quit I’m A Celebrity South Africa after a horror fall while leaving her ‘entire chin open’.

It was previously reported that the former Model 68 had to leave the ITV show early after suffering an injury, with the incident occurring when the pre-recorded program was being taped last year.

And now Janice has opened up about her terrifying ordeal that saw her rushed to the hospital after the accident that won’t be televised.

Viewers will hear the campmates talk about Janice’s departure during Monday’s episode.

In a new interview, the TV personality revealed that she tripped and fell flat on her face while trying to find the toilet in the middle of the night.

She said The Sun’s TV Mag: ‘I felt very insecure because the campfire was out and it was as dark as possible. So I thought, okay, I’ll get the dunny out of my head.”

“I took a few steps and stumbled, flying flat on my face — hair over my forehead, my nose covered in blood and my entire chin cut open.

“Blood was gushing from all these areas and there was dirt and stones in my face from the fall.”

She added: “All I felt was an intense headache – from one to ten it was about a nine – and I just lay there moaning. It was a freak accident that happened so quickly.’

Fortunately, Janice was found by Fatima Whitbread and Phil Tuffnell, who quickly picked her up off the floor and helped her back to the campsite.

The American star, who was “moaning and crying” in pain, was then helped to her bed before a medic entered the camp to assess her.

Janice remembered being taken to the medical hut where she was cleaned and given pain relief.

She was then taken by ambulance, in which she received a compress for her head and chin, to a ‘tiny hospital in the middle of nowhere’, while her husband Robert Gerner – who was already in South Africa – was called.

In the interview, Janice talked about how she was in “pain” when medics cleaned her wounds and gave her an injection of morphine to ease her pain.

Departure: Viewers will see during Monday’s episode the campmates being told of Janice’s departure

MailOnline has reached out to I’m A Celebrity representatives for comment.

Janice’s exit news comes after her And Carol Vorderman, 62, were criticized by viewers on Friday after they both refused to participate in the gold mine Bushtucker trial.

In the final episode of the show, the camp had to split into two teams consisting of the yellow team and the green team and compete against each other.

Both the team captains – Joe Swash and Dean Gaffney – were forced to choose two contestants to participate in the trial.

Before the trial, however, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnolly revealed a cruel twist to the campmates by announcing that the two lost would be sent home.

The green team captain, Joe Swash, 41, first decided to ask his team for volunteers and tried asking Janice.

Probation: In the last episode of the show, the camp had to split into two teams consisting of the yellow team and the green team to complete the ‘gold mine’ trial

However, Janice declined to take part, while Carol, who also did not volunteer, said she was ‘not happy’ with the final choice as it could mean the departure of two strong team members.

After asking camp members if they would like to volunteer, Joe chose Andy, 42, and Toff, 28, who seemed enthusiastic, while the yellow team captain chose Jordan, 33, and Myleene, 45.

As the scenes played out on screen, fans quickly took to Twitter to share their anger by criticizing Janice and Carol for their behavior prior to the Bushtucker trial.

I’m A Celebrity…South Africa continues on Monday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
