Just days before she hits the road again for her first tour in four years – the Together Again World Tour – Janet Jackson wants to tell her life story on the small screen.
The 56-year-old singer is reportedly in talks with several writers to turn her life story into a TV miniseries, a report from The sun.
“Janet and her team are in talks with writers in hopes of finding the right one to write a biopic,” a source said, adding that the Lifetime TV network is reportedly interested.
“The story would document Janet’s privileged but rocky beginnings, her rise to fame and her relationship with her brother Michael Jackson,” the source said.
The source continued, “The plan is to make it a miniseries and use her music to create the soundtrack.”

While many musical biopics have hit the big screen in recent years, such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman, and I Wanna Dance With Somebody, the biographical TV series is nowhere near as common.
Jackson has not publicly commented on the report at this point, and it’s unclear how far along the potential project is.
Lifetime’s potential interest also makes sense, given that last year the network aired the documentary Janet Jackson, cable’s top documentary with more than 21 million viewers.
Lifetime also announced last month that they were moving forward with a second documentary that will follow the singer on her Together Again tour.
The documentary series, titled Janet Jackson: Family First, “will chronicle the legendary singer, songwriter, producer, author, actor, philanthropist and global icon as she embarks on her 2023 “Together Again” tour.
It will also follow, “her teaming up with brother Randy Jackson to reunite the family band after 40 years since their last performance.”
The series will follow up on the 2022 documentary, “featuring the next chapter in Janet’s journey, in her own words and experiences with an exclusive, intimate and honest look at her life, family and legendary artistry.”
The documentary also celebrates Janet Jackson’s 50th anniversary in entertainment and highlights the milestones for two of Jackson’s most critically acclaimed albums – 25 years of “The Velvet Rope” and 30 years of “Janet.”
