Actress Jane Lynch and wife Jennifer Cheyne were spotted together on a lunch date, in a rare public outing for the famously private couple.

The couple, who married in Santa Barbara in 2021, live in the idyllic but star-studded seaside town of Montecito, but they’re rarely seen together in public.

In fact, the Glee star, 63, can sometimes be spotted grabbing a cup of coffee at Pierre LaFond or having lunch at Tre Lune, but is usually alone or accompanied by friends and fellow locals like Ellen DeGeneres.

Lynch and Cheyne, 62, a screenwriter, attended events together, but their real private lives have remained largely private.

But last week, DailyMail.com spotted the five-time Emmy winner having lunch with her longtime partner at new hotspot Lilac Montecito on Coast Village Road.

The couple had a picturesque window seat and enjoyed their lunch at the cafe, which serves gluten-free baked goods and other treats.

After an hour, the two left and walked back to their car. The actress smiled as she was photographed on the street.

“Just use the good photos, okay?” she joked.

Despite playing villainous characters like Sue Sylvester on Glee from 2009 to 2015, Jane is known in Montecito as one of the few friendly celebrities you’ll encounter since moving to the seaside enclave in late 2020.

Jane and Jennifer reportedly took day trips from Los Angeles to Montecito during their courtship and wondered: Why not live here permanently?

Public records from DailyMail.com show that on September 17, 2020, they purchased a two-story, three-bedroom, three-bathroom ranch-style home over 2,000 square feet for $3.2 million, just blocks from the beach.

On November 4 of the following year, they were married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, with Cheyne’s son Harry officiating.

It was Jane’s second marriage, the first being from 2010 to 2014 to Lara Embry.

This one seems to be a keeper, with Jane raving about her wife’s skills in fixing up their new home.

In 2020, she told People magazine: ‘We work so well and we are very grateful that we found each other. She knows how to handle everything.

“She says, ‘I don’t need to hire a handyman.’

“Although she is feminine and soft, she has a thing for tools that she pulls out and she can fix almost anything, plumbing, loose shutters and our air conditioner. She has patience for details.”

Still, no one should find it strange that the couple spends many days apart.

Jane said, “We have our own routines and separate spaces to retreat to in our home. But then we have coffee together in the morning or meet for a meal.”
