53-year-old Jay founded Jamiroquai in 1992.

Jay is known for his obsession with hats – he is rarely seen without a hat in the band’s videos and promo photos.

Fans rushed to offer their support on Facebook.

One said, “I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you find it. Please put a GPS tracker on that bag and an AirTag in the hat next time.”

‘Oh no! Jay Kay has lost his super powers!’ said another.

And another offered to help and said, “Is this the hat Charlie Nicholson designed?” I am a lighting/automation designer. If it doesn’t appear, I’ll throw my ‘hat’ in the ring to design something new and better!’

Meanwhile, others joked, “Guess it travels without moving,” one said, while another joked, “Maybe it’ll be back in sunny June in 7 days?”
