Jamie Redknapp’s son, Beau, 15, is set to follow in his father’s footsteps as he signs for Premier League club

Jamie Redknapp’s son Beau is following in his father’s footsteps and signing for Premier League club Brentford.

Beau, 15, shared a photo on Instagram last weekend of the moment he drew as his proud father looked on.

His brother Charley and his father were present at this festive event.

Beau, whose mother is singer Louise Redknapp, captioned the post: ‘That’s where we’re at. @brentfordfc.’

Jamie, who played as a midfielder for Liverpool and Tottenham in his prime, showed how proud he was of his son in his comments.

Jamie wrote, “My husband,” with a red heart emoji.

Mother Louise also made her own announcement.

She shared the photo of Beau signing for Brentford and wrote: ‘Beyond proud of my Beau Beau, the hard work pays off! Congratulations on signing for @BrentfordFC. Love you so much xxx.’

The former Eternal star has two sons with her ex, 50-year-old English footballer Jamie, whom she divorced in 2017 after 19 years of marriage.

Louise is now in a new relationship with Drew, who has been spotted spending time with the two teenagers several times in recent months.

The move comes just days after Jamie criticised a Brentford player for inattention as Liverpool took an early lead.

Sunday’s match was Arne Slot’s first competitive game at Anfield, with the Dutchman making just one change to the team that beat Ipswich on the opening weekend.

As the match got underway, Thomas Frank’s team attempted to strike the first blow against the Reds and were awarded a corner in the opening stages.

The ball was then well received by Ibrahima Konate, with the home side immediately launching a lightning-fast counter-attack after Vitaly Janelt failed to dethrone Mo Salah on the edge of the penalty area.

Diogo Jota picked up the loose ball and gave Luis Diaz the chance, who fired home with lightning speed to put the home side ahead. It was his 100th appearance for the Reds.

Jamie said at half-time that it had cost Brentford dearly that the German midfielder was not properly prepared for the possibility of Liverpool breaking away from a corner.

“Janelt, keep an eye on him,” the former England international said on Sky Sports.

‘He’s just not really alive, he’s playing with his nose, he starts playing with his shirt.

“He doesn’t think, ‘I’m the last line of defense here, I have to win this first contact.’

‘If Mo Salah wins that first duel, you’re immediately in trouble.’

‘From a Brentford perspective I just don’t see that risk-reward, especially in a place like this. A lot of teams try to do it to condense teams, to make the pitch really, really small.

‘But once the ball drops, and you don’t win the first ball, you have to run 60 yards back to your own goal, then you’re in trouble, just like Brentford.’
