Jamie Oliver’s wife Jools is emotional as their daughter Poppy, 21, heads off travelling with her boyfriend in another ‘parenting milestone’

Jools Oliver became emotional as she waved her eldest child Poppy off to the airport to embark on the ‘adventure of a lifetime’.

The author, 48, and husband Jamie, also 48, waved goodbye to Poppy, 21, and her boyfriend Ben as they hit the road.

It comes after Poppy graduated from the University of Leeds in July with a BA in English and Creative Writing.

Jools shared several snaps of their farewell on Instagram and admitted that the split was a parenting milestone she didn’t enjoy.

She wrote: “Oh my word, well that was SO hard another parenting milestone I don’t love it!

“Have the time of your life little daddy we are so proud of you and Ben make the most of every minute and have the adventure of a lifetime. It goes without saying that you will be missed so deeply by each of us.

Jools’ followers took to the comments section to say they could relate to the heartache of seeing your child fly the nest.

Poppy graduated from Leeds University in the summer and proud mum Jools reflected on her journey in a sweet Instagram post.

She wrote: “What a wonderful happy extremely emotional day celebrating Pop’s graduation. We have never felt so proud.
