Jamie Oliver viewers left ‘choking on their water’ after VERY rude comment – slamming TV chef for ‘worst sentence they’ve ever heard’ during dessert demo

Jamie Oliver returned to the kitchen earlier this month with his new show focusing on autumnal fruit and vegetables.

But it was the chef’s tutorial on the pear tarte tatin he made on last week’s episode of Jamie: What To Eat This Week that caused a stir, with one rather rude comment.

The TV chef was preparing the delicious-looking dessert before tasting it, when he said: ‘Look at that, absolutely beautiful. A very, very classy dessert.

“I always grab it from the back because it has that lovely, crispy edge. So I go in, and that’s just the best.”

Viewers choked on the commentary, calling it ‘the worst sentence ever’.

After the episode aired on Channel 4, viewers wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘One of the worst lines I’ve ever heard’;

‘No one else in the room heard it and I didn’t have the minerals to repeat it

“I choked on the water, lol.” @Jamieoliver loved taking that cake from behind.

In the new series, Jamie heads into the kitchen to serve up autumnal dishes such as roast chicken with eggplant, baked feta with fig and prosciutto salad and green bean stew.

And the delicious dishes ensured that it was not only his spicy comment that provoked reactions, as others praised his dishes.

Viewers said: ‘@jamieoliver I’m loving watching your new series: What to Eat.. All the recipes are inspiring.. Flatbread, feta cheese, fig salad, blackberry vinegar and pear tart tatin are definitely going on my list.. such easy and inspiring recipes. Thank you,’;

‘#jamiewhattoeat that monkfish looks amazing! @jamieoliver.’

This happened after Jamie and his brood had dinner with Joe Wicks’ family in August.
