Jamie Lynn Spears sobs over ‘struggle’ of growing up in sister’s shadow… while Mel B regains power

Jamie Lynn Spears broke down in tears when she admitted she had self-esteem issues as Britney Spears’ younger sister in Wednesday’s season premiere of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.

The 31-year-old actress got emotional after a tough military drill alongside fellow contestant Mel B, 47, who was looking for a fresh start after getting out of an abusive relationship.

Jamie Lynn struggled with a backward fall from a helicopter into the water and was called a “jester” by an instructor before she was later interviewed about her failure.

“Growing up, my sister became famous, famous all over the world, when I was very young,” said Jamie Lynn.

I’m so proud of her, I love her to death, but I don’t know. Sometimes I feel like I don’t really have anything going for me,” she continued.

In a confessional, Jamie Lynn said she was “extremely proud” of her sister’s success, but also wanted to carve out her “own identity”.

“I struggle with self-esteem all the time,” Jamie Lynn admitted.

Spice Girls singer Mel B said she had been living in fear and hoped the course would help her regain her own power.

“I ended up in a very horrible abusive relationship of 10 years. I felt useless, you feel powerless. I face huge fears. I’m just going to bring out that inner person that I hope isn’t dead and gone,” Mel said.
