While promoting her highly anticipated horror sequel Halloween Ends, Jamie Lee Curtis revealed that she’s open to creating a completely different sequel: Freaky Friday 2.
The 63-year-old actress appeared on The View Monday, where she was asked about the possibility of a sequel to her 2003 film starring Lindsay Lohan, which was itself a remake of the 1976 film of the same name starring Barbara Harris. and a teenage Jodie Foster.
Curtis revealed that she has already “written to Disney” about the possibility of a sequel, as fans approach the remake’s 20th anniversary.

Curtis was asked by Sara Haines, host of The View, about the chatter about a possible sequel, and she admitted there had been “a lot of talk” about the sequel.
“I’ve already written to Disney, my friends at Disney. I’m in their new Haunted Mansion movie,” she said of the upcoming movie slated for release in 2023.
“I’m 64 years old…not today, soon, in a month, whatever, my point is I’m wide open, creative, I’m wide open,” Curtis added.

She added that her co-star Lindsay Lohan had “just made a Christmas movie,” adding that it’s “all good.”
‘Bring it! Let me be the grandma, let me be the old grandma switching places so that Lindsay becomes the sexy grandma who is still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon,” the actress added.
“I’d love to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I’d love to see me hanging out with toddlers today. I want to be a helicopter parent in today’s world,” Curtis joked.

The story is based on Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel of the same name, which follows a mother and daughter who inexplicably switch bodies and live each other’s lives.
The 1976 film was a hit for its time, earning $36 million at the box office on a $5 million budget.
The novel was adapted for the small screen with the 1995 TV movie Freaky Friday that aired on ABC, starring Shelly Long and Gabby Hoffman.

The 2003 adaptation of Curtis and Lohan was a blockbuster, making $160.8 million worldwide on a $20 million budget.
Disney also turned Freaky Friday into a stage musical, with a filmed adaptation debuting in 2018.
Disney has yet to officially announce a Freaky Friday sequel, though this comes just after they released a Hocus Pocus sequel, 30 years after the original.
