Foxx began the interview by expressing that he greatly admired Diaz and the success she achieved over the course of her career.

‘Cameron is such an incredible force and she has done so much in this business. We love her,’ he stated.

The Django Unchained star went on to note that he posed a simple question to the actress during the negotiation process.

He recalled asking her: ”Do you wanna have some fun? Just have some fun!’ And I think that’s what brought her to it.’

Foxx subsequently stated that he viewed Diaz’s return to acting as particularly significant.

‘We miss special moments sometimes, in our business, and I think this is a special moment. So we’re so happy that it’s happening and looking forward to it,’ he said.

The Academy Award–winning performer did point out, however, that he had to be creative in the manner by which he coaxed the actress back to her old career.

‘We had to be very innovative in how we, you know, brought her back,’ he stated.
