Jamie Carragher’s ‘drunken’ interview with Jadon Sancho after drinking eight pints at Borussia Dortmund’s famous ‘Yellow Wall’ left the CBS studio in hysterics.

The Liverpool legend turned pundit was sent to watch the Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain with the home fans.

Carragher said he had no qualms about getting a pre-match beer as he greeted his new ‘family and friends’ in Dortmund.

Viewers were then treated to a hilarious post-match chat between Carragher and Manchester United loanee Sancho, who enjoyed an impressive evening.

Carragher, wearing a Dortmund scarf, conducted much of the interview with his arm around Sancho, causing the CBS studio panel to erupt in laughter.

“He’s got his arm around him!” Micah Richards could be heard screaming.

Thierry Henry sat with his head in his hands before anchor Kate Abdo made a funny joke at Carragher’s expense.

’99 touches from him [Sancho] in that game tonight. 31 touches from Jamie Carragher on Jadon Sancho in the interview he did,” she said, causing Richards to burst out laughing again.

Dortmund will take a 1-0 lead against Paris for next Tuesday’s second leg thanks to Niclas Fullkrug’s first-half goal.

As Carragher lined up next to Peter Schmeichel to conduct the post-match interviews, a concerned Abdo asked him: “Are you sober enough to do this, Jamie?”

He replied, “You know, that’s actually a good point. I didn’t eat too much. I had a cheeseburger around 2:30.

‘That might explain why I’m slurring my words, because I drank about eight pints in the Yellow Wall.

‘I have a new family, a family and friends. We all took care of each other.”

Carragher then spotted Sancho and invited him in for a chat, immediately putting his arm around the Englishman as he was handed a microphone.

‘I’ve just been to the Yellow Wall, my first experience with it. You obviously know it very well, because you have been here before. That was one of the best experiences of my life, amazing,” Carragher said.

Sancho praised Dortmund’s support before Carragher continued: ‘The great thing about the Yellow Wall is the atmosphere. It’s not the best view in the world, but I thought you played well.

“But Thierry Henry, Alessandro Del Piero and Micah Richards are in the studio and they are absolutely thrilled with your performance.”

Sancho replies: “I appreciate it, but we still have to go to Paris to finish the job there.”

The coverage then switches to the studio, where Henry lies on the desk with his head in his hands and Del Piero sways back and forth.

After Schmeichel asks about Sancho’s England ambitions for the 2024 European Championship, Carragher, with another hand on the shoulder, asks the winger what Dortmund means to him.

‘That’s a great question. “I came here when I was 17 and they gave me the opportunity to play my professional football, so I’m really happy with the staff and players who have welcomed me back,” he said.

Sancho then shuts down a question about his future at his parent club United before Carragher continues to wax lyrical about the Yellow Wall.

But he warns Sancho he may have to drink eight pints before he is in front of the fans.

Schmeichel had clearly seen enough and sent his colleague to the ‘sin bin’ after Sancho had left.
