Liverpool fans have been venting their anger after being beaten 3-0 by a riotous Brighton side on Saturday.

The result, in which Solly March hit a brace before a late Danny Welbeck goal, lifted the Seagulls past Jurgen Klopp’s side to seventh in the league.

Jamie Carragher claimed his old team were defensively “as bad as anyone in the Premier League at the moment” after the result, while fans called for ticket refunds after the Reds were “ripped”.

Liverpool were thrashed 3-0 by Brighton in their Premier League clash on Saturday

They have now slipped to eighth in the league after fighting for four trophies last season.

Jordan Henderson (pictured) and Fabinho were heavily criticized after the match.

There were also concerns that there was “nothing surprising” about the result, as Brighton were “just a better team”, a worrying thought for a team that challenged a quad less than a year ago.

Other fans focused on Liverpool’s shortcomings in midfield, arguing that manager Jurgen Klopp ‘constantly chooses [Jordan] Henderson and Fabinho despite the fact that they played poorly all season.

‘How that pair came out in the second half, God only knows. Klopp has doubled up on a broken midfield and complains when he is asked why.

Brighton’s win moves them past Liverpool to seventh in the Premier League.

Some compared the failed duo to Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister, who ‘wrecked’ Liverpool despite costing just ‘£11.5m’ between them.

The loss was the last straw for many, with tweets saying: ‘This team has given us incredible memories we will never forget, but they are finished. It is time to move forward and start a new era.’

‘Needs a top to bottom reset. Ownership, management, players. Let the respective people do their job,” added another.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have struggled to live up to their usual standards amid an injury crisis

Despite racking up 92 points last season and finishing just one point behind champions Manchester City, Liverpool have struggled this year and now sit eighth in the league.

They have been hampered by injuries but will still be disappointed by the campaign thus far after winning less than half of their 18 games.

Klopp’s men will be in action against struggling giants Chelsea next Saturday.
