Jamie Carragher says West Ham fans are ‘bang out of order’ for ‘Moyes out’ banner but admits it’s time for manager ‘to move on in the summer’
Jamie Carragher has hit out at West Ham supporters for displaying a ‘Moyes out’ banner during their last match against Nottingham Forest.
Forest won the match 2–0, with Hammers fans increasing the pressure on the Scottish manager.
West Ham have failed to win a single match since the start of 2024 and are in the middle of an eight-match winless run in all competitions.
The visiting fans sang ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’ to their own manager and another defeat to Brentford on Monday could be the final straw.
Speaking on Monday Night Football, Carragher said: “I want to start with the banner. I think that’s out of order.
“This is a man who for 43 years gave you the best night you ever had in your life. That European night and the journey they went on are some of the best nights West Ham have ever experienced.

‘It’s not just about the football, it’s leaving with your friends, the memories. That night they had, the best night they had since about 1980. Who knows how long it will be before they win another trophy?
So for me the banner forgets that, he deserves a lot more respect than that.”
‘I completely understand where the fans are coming from. They want to go to the Games and see their team at the forefront.
David Moyes said a contract offer was on the table. I actually think it would be better for all parties if they parted ways.
David Moyes has done a fantastic job there, but if there is crowd unrest at the end of the season, you don’t need that when you go into October or November next season and it becomes toxic. The time for me for David Moyes to move on is in the summer.
