Jamie Carragher reveals how Kate Abdo ‘put him back in his place’ after awkward joke about husband Malik Scott… as Liverpool legend admits he was acting ‘like a little child’

Jamie Carragher has admitted he acted ‘like a little child’ after making an awkward joke on live TV about co-host Kate Abdo ‘not being loyal’.

The incident occurred during CBS Sports’ coverage of Arsenal’s Champions League match against Porto at the Emirates Stadium in March, with Carragher’s attempt at humor awkwardly missing the mark.

Abdo then discussed the incident live on television 24 hours later, brutally slamming Carragher and now the Liverpool legend has lifted the lid on his side of the story.

Speak with The bellhe said: “We never ignore the elephants in the room. I was a little child. I just got punched and put back in my place, and rightly so.”

In the show, the former Liverpool defender had Richards don the shirt after the latter revealed he grew up supporting the Gunners.

But at the end of the shootout it was Carragher’s turn to wear the shirt after Bukayo Saka requested it in his post-match interview.

Carragher then suggested that Henry and Abdo should be next to wear the Arsenal shirt on air, prompting a bizarre comment from the former Liverpool defender.

“You [Henry] can wear it next and for the last part [of the show] You [Abdo] must bear it,” he told his colleagues.

“No, I’m loyal,” Abdo quickly replied, before adding: “Manchester United, thank you very much,” when Carragher asked who she was loyal to.

“You’re not loyal to Malik,” the former Liverpool defender fired back, referring to Abdo’s then-boyfriend, and now husband, Malik Scott.

In the same interview with The Ringer, Abdo also gave her opinion on the situation, saying, “I think the reason we function well is because we screw each other.

“That’s like a sports team, right? I feel like those inappropriate conversations should be had in the locker room and kept in the locker room. You deal with them internally, and then you move on.”

Last month, Abdo tied the knot with her partner Scott in what appeared to be a small and intimate wedding.

The couple took to Instagram to share several photos from their wedding day, thanking God for the “gift of marriage” in their captions.

Abdo wore an elegant, off-the-shoulder white dress with a fitted bodice for the ceremony, while Scott wore a black patterned suit with no shirt underneath.

The pair opted for a close-knit party where the wedding setup exuded an intimate and romantic atmosphere.

Malik’s children attended the ceremony, with the happy couple posing for photos with the trainer’s son and daughter after the wedding.

Abdo and Scott have gained public attention for their relationship, especially due to their respective high-profile careers in sports media and boxing.
