Jamie Carragher labeled Moises Caicedo’s Chelsea debut a ‘nightmare’ after the midfielder struggled following his debut against West Ham on Sunday.
10-man Hammers stunned Chelsea and scored a third stoppage-time goal that Caicedo blamed for after dragging Emerson to the ground in the penalty area.
Lucas Paqueta scored the resulting penalty kick to give West Ham a deserved three points, while Carragher beat Premier League record-breaking Caicedo for his performance.
It was a debut to forget for the Ecuadorian, as he effectively gave the hosts three points by making the mistake in a moment of hasty decision-making.
Carragher said on Sky Sports: ‘Caicedo has had a bit of a nightmare since he came on. It’s a poor, lazy challenge.’

Caicedo was left on the bench by Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, who had decided his new £115 million arrival was not ready to start following his move.
He was then introduced in the 67th minute as the Blues looked for an equalizer after Mikhail Antonio restored West Ham’s lead.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder struggled to protect his defense despite the Hammers being down to 10 men after Nayef Aguerd was sent off for a second yellow card.
