- Niclas Füllkrug scored the only goal as Dortmund secured a 1-0 win at home
- Jamie Carragher hung out on Dortmund’s iconic yellow wall throughout the match
Jamie Carragher emerged from Borussia Dortmund’s famous Yellow Wall to conduct an interview with Jadon Sancho, leaving fans at home watching in hysterics.
CBS continued their unique approach to football coverage by bringing Carragher into the mix with the home fans for Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg against PSG.
Carragher was seen drinking beer as he enjoyed the match with the Dortómund supporters, who had plenty to cheer as Niclas Fullkrug secured a 1-0 win that evening.
The former Liverpool defender was back in more familiar surroundings as he spoke to his colleagues in the studio after the match against Peter Schmeichel.
“Are you sober enough to do this Jamie,” asked a somewhat concerned Kate Abdo.
“You know what’s actually a good point,” he replied. ‘I haven’t eaten much. I had a cheeseburger around 2:30.
‘That might explain why I’m slurring my words, because I’ve had about eight pints in the yellow wall. I have a new family, a family and friends. We all took care of each other.
Fans were then treated to the funny interaction when Carragher spotted Sancho and stopped him for an interview.
Carragher put his arm around the evening’s man of the match and said: ‘I’ve just been in the yellow wall. Apparently you know it very well. That was one of the best experiences of my life.’
Carragher admitted he didn’t have the best vision but told Sancho that his fellow pundits, including Thierry Henry, were raving about him as the camera looked at Henry, who had his head in his hands.
“I’ve found a new family, new friends,” Carragher continued. ‘They bought me pints of lager all evening.
