This weekend sees the biggest game of the Premier League season yet and Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards will now be feeling even more nervous as their former clubs get involved.
Only one point separates the league leaders Reds from the reigning champions ahead of the huge clash at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
And Liverpool legend Carragher has made a big bet with former City defender Richards on the outcome, with the loser having to buy the winner an expensive designer suit.
Speaking to CBS Sports on Wednesday evening after City’s comfortable Champions League last-16 win over Copenhagen, Richards said: ‘Great night. I said before the game, and I wasn’t cocky.
“Jamie (Carragher) alluded to the fact that maybe I was trying to be cocky, but I wasn’t. I just think Manchester City have too much quality.

Jamie Carragher (L) and Micah Richards (R) have placed a bet on Sunday’s big match
‘They are in good form at the moment and may stay that way for a long time, because in the coming weeks Liverpool, Newcastle, Arsenal…’
At that point Carragher interrupted and asked: ‘Has Pep ever won at Anfield?’ Richards replied: “Once. We did statistics, right? I don’t remember when that was, it was once in nine, and also four draws.”
Carragher said: “One in nine when there was no crowd. I’m going there.’

Host Kate Abdo then intervened and asked what they were willing to bet on the game, and Richards replied: “Hmm, a suit! I want a new Thom Brown suit.”
Carragher looked a little concerned as he asked how much they cost before agreeing and shaking his hand.

Richards then made it clear that Carragher could get any suit he wanted for a similar price if Liverpool came out on top.
Thom Browne suits cost over £2,000 on their website and are renowned for their quality.
