Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is seen as ‘England’s next superstar’ and is being trained at Borussia Dortmund after scoring twice in the Champions League.
The youngster was not allowed to come on until the 68th minute, but two goals with his right boot gave Dortmund the victory and earned him the title of Man of the Match.
He could have made it a hat-trick, but new striker Serhou Guirassy converted a penalty in the 95th minute to give the Germans a 3-0 win over Club Brugge.
Bynoe-Gittens has scored four goals in five games this season and people think he could follow a similar path to Jude Bellingham.
The 20-year-old was even named ‘England’s next superstar’ by Get German Football News thanks to his stunning form.

The 20-year-old has been hailed as ‘England’s next superstar’ and a ‘gem’ after a flying start to the season
‘Bynoe-Gittens is such a threat 1v1. He’s so explosive. He’ll be a good rival for Gordon for England,’ wrote one fan on X.
“They certainly know how to unearth a British gem of a player,” said another of Dortmund.
One fan thinks Arsenal should try to sign him: ‘Mikel Arteta would do wonders with Jamie Bynoe-Gittens at Arsenal. Four goals in just 122 minutes in major competitions is mental. One of the most potent English wingers in the world at the moment.’
After watching the game, Joe Cole gave his views on the development of young English stars at Dortmund on TNT Sports.
‘When I talk to people in Germany they say they want to get the best young players from England, get them out, there is a path.
‘Imagine the best 16-year-old in the country, he’s now thinking: “Should I sign for Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City? Borussia Dortmund is on the table – now that’s interesting.”
‘He’ll think about (Jadon) Sancho, think about Bellingham, (Bynoe-)Gittens, it’s a path they’re offering. What we think Celtic should do and what Brugge are trying to do, Borussia Dortmund are already at that next level. They’re managing to do that and also compete, which is incredible. That’s the result of hanging on for so long.’
He joined Dortmund in 2020 after playing for Reading and Manchester City.
Bynoe-Gittens grew up through Reading’s youth ranks, like Michael Olise, but was snapped up by Manchester City in 2018 before Dortmund came calling.
An injury initially prevented him from playing, but he made his Bundesliga debut in April 2022. A few months later he scored his first goal and has since become a regular in the team.
He played at the highest level for England under-21s and won the 2022 European Under-19 Championship, starting in the final in a 3-1 win over Israel.
