Olympic gold medal-winning snowboarder Jamie Anderson has welcomed her first child.
The 32-year-old athlete shared Wednesday that she and her 27-year-old fiance, Canadian snowboarder Tyler Nicholson, are now parents to a girl named Misty Rose.
The star also shared pictures of her newborn on Instagram. The boy is seen alone and in Nicholson’s arms.
Misty was born in Lake Tahoe, California. ‘Misty Rose Nicholson, was born through the most mystical storm we have ever experienced and the heaviest snowfall Tahoe has ever had [seen] in 70 years,’ he wrote in his caption.
Jamie announced in December that she was pregnant.

“We are so in love and thankful for you Misty,” he also shared on social media.
Nicholson also took to social media to share the good news: “Meet Misty Rose Nicholson.”
He added: ‘Wow, what an experience to bring a little nugget into this world. Congratulations to @jamieanderson and to all the mothers out there, birth is such a beautiful thing. The last photo is 5 minutes old.’
The couple, who announced in January 2022 that they were engaged, shared in December that they were expecting a child.
“We’re having a baby,” she wrote in a selfie taken of the beaming parents-to-be.
She tagged her partner and included a heart-infused blushing emoji.
The winter sports pro also shared snapshots of a session she did showing off her baby bump on her Instagram account.
“The most precious and beautiful thing I’ve ever felt,” he captioned the post. ‘So incredibly grateful…’
Jamie revealed that she found out about her pregnancy during a visit to Lake Tahoe.

“We spent about a month there. I was definitely surprised,’ she said. People.
‘I had a feeling because I was very tired and feeling a bit off. This is my first time taking a pregnancy test – my partner Tyler and I did it together.
“I was 10 days late and I was visiting a couple of friends and they said, ‘I bet you’re pregnant.’ I was like, ‘No way.’ But my subconscious knew…’
“For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted children.
‘You think you can decide exactly when and where and this and that. In my case I feel that it was the perfect moment… I am very grateful. I think it will be the best trip.

Jamie and her Canadian snowboarding boyfriend wanted the child’s gender to remain “a surprise.”
“However, it is tempting,” he added. ‘But it’s one of the last surprises in life that are quite genuine…’
Jamie and Tyler announced their engagement in January 2022 and had already decided to get married in 2023.
“We had already planned to get married next year,” he said. ‘With this surprise, we will definitely wait, there is no rush.
‘We want to have a nice celebration with our two families. Much of his family is in Canada and mine is in the United States; with Covid-19 there are a lot of restrictions.’
