James Martin’s ‘new series will still air’ despite claims he could be suspended by ‘furious’ ITV bosses amid bullying allegations

James Martin’s ‘new TV series will still air on ITV,’ a new report said, despite allegations of bullying.

The TV chef, 51, cursed 42 times when he went on a foul-mouthed tirade at his TV crew in 2018 shortly after his shock cancer diagnosis, with an extraordinary recording of the moment recently leaked.

Last week, The Daily Mail revealed exclusively that he could be suspended from ITV after senior bosses were outraged at his behaviour.

It is now rumored that his show, James Martin’s Spanish Adventure, will air this fall.

The sun reports that “the film crew was reduced to tears” during the production of the series, but the broadcast continues.

On air: James Martin’s ‘new TV series will still be broadcast by ITV’, according to a new report, despite allegations of bullying

MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment.

It was reported last week that James could be suspended from ITV after senior bosses were outraged by allegations of his bullying behaviour.

The channel is still reeling from the fallout from the Phillip Schofield scandal, which saw allegations of a toxic culture on its flagship This Morning programme.

Wary of a rerun, some network executives lobbied not to reinstate the chef’s shows.

Leaked audio released showed Martin launching a ten-minute rant against staff during a Zoom call in 2018.

The chef was heard swearing 42 times after a drain was clogged in his house while filming for his show James Martin’s Saturday Morning.

At one point, Martin can be heard telling his team to be “damned fried,” while in another outburst, he suggests that they take their lunch break in the “damn rain” as punishment.

The incident came to light after a slew of complaints were made this year about the chef’s behavior while filming James Martin’s Spanish Adventure, leading to an internal investigation into his conduct.

In response to ITV’s inquiry, Martin said he was “completely sorry” for getting angry, and agreed that “lessons have been learned”.

Sources at the broadcaster say they are under contract to make another series of the program, but there are currently no plans to order more from the star’s production company, Blue Marlin.

Martin, 51, revealed he was awaiting surgery for facial cancer at the same time he launched the foul-mouthed rant against his crew.

But a member of staff told the Daily Mail: “Many allegations have now been made against James… while one series is to be made under contract, nothing else is in the pipeline and there is strong lobbying that he should not be re-signed. .’

Martin – whose jovial personality has made him a viewer favorite – has been inundated with messages of support after a recording of the tirade was leaked to The Sun newspaper.

In a statement apologizing for his behavior, he revealed he was left in a “very emotional state” following a series of personal tragedies.

He said: “The end of 2017 was one of the most fraught and difficult times of my life. I was dealing with the death of my last living grandparent, my grandfather, and work commitments prevented me from attending his funeral.

“Later that month, I was broken into at night by a team of masked men, who entered my house while my partner Louise was home alone and I was at work. I was devastated that she had to go through that alone.

“On top of that, I was then diagnosed with cancer in my face and had to have surgery, which I couldn’t do until two days before Christmas, when we finished filming. Since then it has come back several times and I have to undergo regular treatments.

“After all this stress, I was very emotional, and when I found out after filming in early January 2018 that my house had been flooded during filming, I was extremely upset.

“All I can say is that I am human and after a build-up of personal life pressures, I admit that I overreacted regarding the damage to my home.”

ITV’s chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall was summoned before the DCMS committee last month after Schofield admitted to having an affair with a much younger This Morning colleague and then lied about it to The Mail on Sunday.
