James Maddison and Mikey Moore WALKED to Tottenham’s game with Man City after getting stuck in traffic – as the duo film themselves making their way the stadium unnoticed

James Maddison and Mikey Moore had to walk to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday after being stuck in traffic.

Spurs went into their EFL Cup tie against Manchester City needing a response after suffering a disappointing defeat to Crystal Palace just days earlier.

However, Ange Postecoglou was almost without two of his stars for the game, as Maddison hilariously revealed on his Instagram Story.

In a series of messages on Friday, the England international described how he and Moore had to complete the journey to the ground on foot but were able to arrive unnoticed amid hordes of supporters.

He wrote: ‘The traffic was so bad, me and @mikeymoore_10 had to walk the last mile because we were stuck in stationary traffic and couldn’t move.’

Maddison added that the experience of being in the stadium on match day reminded him of traveling to watch his boyhood club Coventry as a youth.

‘I actually loved walking past the pubs and on the streets with fans on the ground.’ He continued.

‘It reminded me of going to Coventry as a boy with my father. No one had any idea, @mikeymoore_10.”

Despite their unconventional arrival, the pair enjoyed a night to remember as Spurs defeated Pep Guardiola’s side.

Timo Werner gave the hosts the lead after just five minutes, before Pape Matar Sarr doubled their lead.

The Citizens fired back on the brink of half-time through Mateus Nunes and Spurs faced a nerve-wracking second half as City hunted for an equalizer.

As City continued to press, 17-year-old Moore got his first appearance in the league as a second-half substitute. He came on for Brennan Johnson with twenty minutes remaining as his side held on for victory.

The bench appearance comes after Moore was handed his first Premier League start following the defeat to Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Spurs now face Manchester United in the EFL Cup quarter-finals next month as they look to move one step closer to ending their 16-year trophy drought.
