James Harden’s rocky start as a Clipper continued Wednesday after Los Angeles was defeated 100-93 by the Brooklyn Nets.
The 10-time All-Star – who lost his debut against the Knicks on Monday night – was serenaded with “Daryl Morey” chants from the crowd as he shot a free throw in the first quarter. He then fired a hilarious cross-court pass that landed in the hands of play-by-play commentator Ian Eagle during the second quarter.
‘That’s coming my way! I get it,” Eagle said during the broadcast. ‘Unbelievable. I could see it from the beginning.
“That might have been my biggest decision in NBA history. I knew it from the moment it left his hand… I have tea on my lap too.”
Harden’s move to Los Angeles came after a tumultuous few months in which he fought for a trade away from the Philadelphia 76ers and fell out with Morey. “Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of any organization that he is a part of,” Harden said last summer.
