James Bond star Sue Vanner, 71, hires King Charles’ divorce lawyer after split from property tycoon

James Bond star Sue Vanner has finally filed for divorce, after 32-year-old husband, real estate mogul Warren Todd, left her for a younger woman in 2019.

The actress, 71, shot to fame in 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me alongside Sir Roger Moore, where she and secret agent James Bond memorably made love under a pile of fur coats.

Despite calling herself a “fighter,” she told Daily Mail’s Richard Eden that she had found the breakup of her marriage “really difficult.”

She has now hired Payne Hicks Beach, the law firm of which Baroness Shackleton is a partner, who has represented both King Charles and Paul McCartney in their high-profile divorces.

Todd, the stepson of reality star Lisa Vanderpump, 62, left his wife, with whom he shares a son, to begin a relationship with his pregnant girlfriend during what friends of the actress described as a “serious midlife crisis.”

Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine in 2019, Sue shared how she found solace in music after her acrimonious breakup.

Lorraine said, “It’s a sad reason for you to get back into the music business… 32 years old and he’s gone off with someone else, and that’s really hard.

Susie replied, “It’s very hard, but I’m a fighter, so I decided to go back to my music.”

Lorraine continued, “So instead of sitting in the corner crying because your husband ran off with someone younger, and they have a baby now I think…”

They’re different, there’s more special effects, they’re less ironic,” she said. ‘But I think they’re fantastic.

It goes with the times.

To which a hurt Susie quipped, “Not that much younger, really, but it doesn’t matter.”

Lorraine scoffed, “That’s almost worse. I know we laugh about it, but it’s really hard.’

After an awkward moment, the conversation turned to Bond, where Susie compared today’s Bond to when she starred in the franchise.

“They’re different, there’s more special effects, they’re less ironic,” she said. ‘But I think they’re fantastic. It goes with the times.’

Warren would now live in a smaller house around the corner with his new girlfriend, who thought she was Eastern European.

Warren’s stepmother, American television star Lisa, previously admitted that the 16-year age difference between the couple initially worried her and his father, Ken Todd.

Lisa said, “When Warren first met Sue, the age difference, the secrecy that had emerged, wasn’t something we supported.

“But I’ve learned a very valuable lesson: When our kids make a choice, remember that our opinions and influence are pretty much superfluous.”

She added that after a few years we “would have to admit we were wrong.”
