Jameela Jamil has called for non-binary people to have their own category at awards shows — as pressure mounts for the Oscars to land genderless acting gongs.

The actress, 37, took to Instagram on Sunday with an impassioned post about the group having an idea she says would prevent Hollywood from ‘completely shutting women out’.

It comes after the BRIT Awards sparked controversy earlier this year with their gender-neutral Artist of the Year award, leaving no female stars nominated.

It comes after Jameela blasted the Met Gala’s Karl Lagerfeld theme in May, claiming the event double standards in honoring a “known bigot.”
