A Jamaican man shamed Rapunzel as he showed off his long dreadlocks that he spent 40 years growing.

Images of the unidentified local resident standing on top of a building and waving his ombre hair were shared on the website @jamaicaviralofficial Instagram page on Monday.

The man with the beard was dressed in a T-shirt and shorts paired with boots, and he had a pink towel wrapped around his shoulders.

It’s unclear why the man was on the roof, but he may have been scaled to the structure to show off the great length of his dreadlocks.

The person filming him asked him questions as he untangled the strands of hair hanging halfway down the side of the building

He used his fingers to comb his hair above his head and then opened his dreads as if they were a curtain.

The person filming him asked him questions as he untied the locks, which hung halfway down the side of the building.

At one point, the cameraman encouraged his friend to read and touch the man’s dreads.

As for his dreadlocks, he said it took him forty years to grow them that long. The bottom half was brown, but the new growth near his scalp was gray.

The 45-second video has been viewed more than 42,000 times since it was posted.

‘Wow… just WOW. Look how beautiful these locomotives are!!! My God, how beautiful,” one fan gushed.

“I love how you can see how they get lighter as they get older and more gray hair grows,” someone else commented.

One Instagram user called him a “real Rapunzel,” while another joked that he is a “Rasta Rapunzel.”

Others were convinced he broke a record with his long dreadlocks.

‘Where is the Guinness Book of World Records?’ one viewer asked.

That has to be a World Record for the Longest Dreads,” someone else agreed.

“Someone needs to contact the Guinness Book of Records and have him recorded before he dies,” another insisted.

The Guinness World Record because the longest dreadlocks currently belong to Asha Mandela, a 60-year-old from Clermont, Florida.

Like the man in the video, it took her more than 40 years to grow her hair, which is 6.5 meters long and weighs a whopping 42 kilos.
