Jalen Hurts signed a five-year, $255 million contract extension with the Eagles last year, and there’s one activity the franchise doesn’t want him to participate in.
Earlier this week, Hurts had the chance to spend time with former President Barack Obama on a golf course, along with teammate Saquon Barkley and owner Jeffrey Lurie.
Unlike the rest of the group, however, Hurts couldn’t actually play golf, admitting this week that his contract prevents him from doing so.
Still, the quarterback admitted it was cool to see Obama, 63, in his element.
“To see him out there enjoying himself and talking some trash, that was cool,” Hurts told reporters via CBS Sports.

‘I told him he didn’t want these problems yet. I can’t play golf right now. My contract says I can’t play golf.’
The two-time Pro Bowler added that Obama’s “day will come,” as Barkley revealed that Hurt’s interest in golf was sparked by the outing.
“I think he’s got the bug there,” Barkley said. “I think he’s seen how much fun it is. It also felt a bit like relaxing. To get away and take your mind off the game, every little bit helps.
Hurts’ Eagles contract is the seventh-largest in NFL history, and the quarterback took the team to the Super Bowl in 2023.
After a bit of a shaky start this season, the quarterback has cleaned up his play of late as he has thrown five touchdowns against zero interceptions over the past four games.
He also has seven rushing scores this season.
Philly has won three in a row and will look to keep the momentum going against the Jaguars this weekend.
