Jalen Hurts agrees to $255MILLION five-year deal with Philadelphia Eagles as quarterback becomes highest-paid player in NFL HISTORY

The Eagles have agreed to a five-year, $255 million contract extension with Jalen Hurts, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history.

According to NFL Network, he is guaranteed $180 million in the deal and about $15 million in incentives for the season.

His new deal also apparently includes a no-trade clause.

Hurts led the Eagles to the Super Bowl last season, but they were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Eagles confirmed the groundbreaking news in a tweet Monday morning, saying, “Keeping the most important thing in Philly. We have agreed with Jalen Hurts on a five-year extension through the 2028 season.”

The 24-year-old has been with the Eagles since being called up in 2020. His most recent season has been his best, despite tasting a Super Bowl loss – Hurts completed 66.5% of his passes for 22 touchdowns and six interceptions, plus another 760 yards and 13 TDs rush.

After the Super Bowl loss in Phoenix in February, Hurts said of his team, “I’m so proud of this team. I will say I am so proud of this team for everything we have been able to overcome.

“Obviously, in the end we had a big time goal that we wanted to achieve, and we came up short.

“The great thing about it is that everyone experiences different pains, everyone experiences different torments of life, but you decide if you want to learn from it. You decide if you want to make that a learning experience and I know what I’m going to do.’
