Jake Quickenden reveals he wants to have another child with wife Sophie as they step out at the NTAs

Former X Factor star Jake Quickenden has revealed his plans to expand his brood with his new wife Sophie.

Exclusive to MailOnline at the National Television Awards in London on Thursday, the singer, 34, admitted that although he’s “pretty” thanks to parenthood, he wants another child.

Jake is father to son Leo, one, with Sophie and stepfather to her older child Freddie, from a previous relationship.

‘I already have two. I have a stepson, and I’m already broke, if I’m honest. So I do not know. It’s going to be tough, but I love being a parent and stepparent more than anything I’ve ever done,” he began.

“So I think it’s good to add one more. were excited. We don’t know when. We don’t really put in the time.’

He added that the couple aren’t ready for another child yet, but plan to add to their brood in the future, saying: ‘We’ll get ready for another one eventually.’

He added that he is not a strict father or stepfather and considers himself a “playful” parent.

‘I’m not that strict. My father was a bit strict, but I am more playful. I just want to play,” he said.

“When Leo wants hugs, he goes to Mommy. If he wants to mess around, he comes to me. And I don’t mind. I’d like a hug every now and then.’

He finished: ‘But hey, I like being the fool, you know? I mean, yeah, it’s great.’

The couple tied the knot in Ibiza last month. He asked in August last year after three years of dating.

On the evening, the pair cozy up as they hit the red carpet at the coveted awards.

Jake looked stylish in a pale pink suit, with a hint of his tattoos in a deep shirtless blazer.

Sophie meanwhile, stunned in a deep black dress with a semi-sheer tulle skirt.

Jake appeared in a good mood at the event and was happy to talk to fans after the show.

This year’s NTAs were broadcast live from a brand new location of Wembley’s OVO Arena with Joel Dommett hosting.

The 2022 National Television Awards saw Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby booed by some audience members, before This Morning was announced as the winner of the Best Daytime Award.

The presenters found themselves at the center of the ‘queue’ controversy’ in September when they were accused of skipping the line to see the Queen in state, which they both denied.

Despite the criticism the broadcasters received, the show still won the Daytime gong, with Phillip saying the award “means so much to us every year, especially this year.”

Other notable winners at the ceremony – held at the OVO Arena in Wembley, London – included Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly for Best Presenter, Anton Du Beke for TV Judge, Peaky Blinders for Returning Drama and Emmerdale for Serial Drama.
