Jake Paul’s one-word response to former rival Tommy Fury after Love Island star pulled out of bout with ex-UFC fighter Darren Till

Jake Paul has given a one-word response to Tommy Fury pulling out of his fight with ex-UFC fighter Darren Till following a series of toxic outbursts between them.

The pair were due to meet at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester on January 18, but Fury pulled out after Till claimed he would kick him in the head.

Fury’s last fight was a unanimous victory against YouTuber boxer KSI last October, but he is unwilling to step into the ring with a man he considers an outsider.

He wrote on Instagram: ‘For the one simple reason that Darren has stated time and time again that he does not want to play by the rules of professional boxing and that if he loses the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics.

‘I’m a professional boxer, I’ve been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I wasted weeks at training camp. We are working hard to find a new opponent and date. I promise I will get a better opponent and fight better for you. Good news around the corner.’

And Paul, who suffered his only first career loss to Fury via split decision in March 2023, reacted happily to the news: ‘hahahaha’.

Till had threatened to kick Fury (pictured) in the head – which was against the rules

Till (pictured) is a former UFC star and the build-up to the future fight was very toxic

And Fury has bragging rights based on this year’s record, having beaten Ryan Bourland, Mike Perry and Mike Tyson, while the former Love Island star has not fought anyone.

The outspoken Till was quick to respond when Fury – the younger brother of former world heavyweight champion Tyson – called him and father John ‘s**thouses’ and insisted he didn’t need to ‘throw kicks’ to win the match.

“I sold the fight to get you and me more money, you absolute airhead, fighting family, my a** you and your dad s**thouses,” Till wrote on the spark went out, you divided, we made money on this fight because I wasn’t you.

“I was building it, you should fight and thank me. Over and out…nobody wants to fight me…Jake Paul, what are you up to, you fat dummy?”

During a heated pre-fight press conference last month, Fury had taunted Till, saying: ‘Listen Darren, you’ve got to walk into the line of fire, mate.’

Till replied, “If I can’t beat you in the end, I’ll just kick you in the face, how about that?”

“Well, that’s not going to happen, is it Darren,” Fury replied. “Because now we are not in the cage, but in the boxing ring, you will find that boxing is very different from MMA.”

Fury’s press conference with Till descended into chaos last month as they shouted abuse at each other

John Fury was seen throwing water in the direction of former UFC star Till during the pre-fight press conference last month.

This didn’t deter Till, who continued to threaten his opponent, saying, “Well, that’s obviously true, how are you going to stop me?”

“If I lose the fight, I’ll kick you right in the face. You won’t know what hit you.’ Fury then said: “If you kick me right in the face, it’s going to be a real fight, isn’t it.”

Fury’s father John was also seen throwing water in the former UFC fighter’s direction.

However, it had limited effect, with Fury left soaked by his father. The move still outraged Till, who was seen trying to rush at the 59-year-old.

The Liverpudlian was held back by security guards, with John showing no signs of backing down as he tried to confront his son’s opponent after taking off his jacket.

Until then, it seemed like they were continuing their clash on social media after publishing John Fury’s phone number. The 31-year-old posted a mobile phone number to his followers on X, formerly Twitter, and added the message ‘Thanks John Fury’.

Until he finally deleted his post, which had been viewed more than 10,000 times, but fans were quick to respond and question the validity of the number.

His social media post came a day after he promised to ‘terrorize’ him [John Fury] and his entire family” ahead of his Jan. 18 fight with Tommy.

“I’ve never seen the Furys get fucked like that, the Furys get bullied,” Till reflected on the chaos at the press conference on The Ariel Helwani Show.

You can’t call someone crazy who just walked to the press conference and didn’t hold anyone down [John Fury] back. I had 10 security hold me back. What has he done? Nothing.

‘I’m going to terrorize him and his entire family for the next nine weeks. Nobody’s going to do anything about it.

“I wanted the face-off. No one stopped John Fury. He could have done something on the spot. So at the end of the day, mate, they were terrorized.”
