Jake Paul trolls Mike Tyson with $100k ear cover in dig at infamous Evander Holyfield bite

Jake Paul wore a $100,000 earmuff to show off his wealth and mock Mike Tyson ahead of their fight on Saturday.

Two days before they meet in the ring for Netflix’s first live boxing event, Paul, Tyson and their undercard cast headlined a press conference at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas.

During the press session, presenter Ariel Helwani pointed out the striking earpiece that was on Paul’s helix.

TMZ Sports reported that VOBARA’s cover cost as much as $100,000. The YouTuber turned fighter wore it on his right ear in a pricey reference to Tyson’s infamous bite on Evander Holyfield during their 1997 heavyweight rematch.

“I can’t get my damn bit off on Friday night,” Paul said as he showed the piece to the camera. “So I have my diamond studded earmuffs there.”

The inspiration for the earmuff came from Tyson’s bite on Holyfield, which sent shockwaves through the sport of boxing 27 years ago.

After Holyfield won their first match via 11th round TKO in 1996, the pair faced off again the following year at MGM Grand. The rematch would be infamously nicknamed The Bite Fight after Iron Mike bit Holyfield’s ear, ending the fight with a disqualification in the third round.

Tyson, 58, is 19 years removed from his last sanctioned professional fight, despite competing in an exhibition with Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.

On the other hand, 27-year-old Paul is racking up a string of victories over athletes and fighters after their primes. The Problem Child has picked up wins over Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, Anderson Silva, Nate Robinson, Nate Diaz and Mike Perry past the height of their powers.

Paul has a record of 10-1 with seven knockouts. Meanwhile, across the ring, the boxing legend enters with a 50-6 record and 44 knockouts.

As Paul and Tyson prepare for the fight, CELSIUS will take center stage during fight week in Texas, keeping fans locally energized.

Visitors can get to know the brand at tasting stations, where they will have the opportunity to try some of the latest refreshing flavors. During the broadcast, fans will be able to see brand partners on screen, including CELSIUS’ ‘Essential Energy Highlight of the Fight’, showcasing the best moments from the main events.

The segment will be shown after each fight and will feature the winning moments of the match. CELSIUS will also have its logo directly on the mat as a central logo partner.

Paul joined the CELSIUS athlete list in 2023. As a long-time fan of the energy drink, he has integrated CELSIUS energy drinks into his daily routine and has chosen it as his drink of choice before workouts and training sessions.

“I’m thrilled to be part of the CELSIUS family,” said Paul. “As a fighter and co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, I want to push boundaries and bring the best to the sport. Whether it’s preparing for Fight Night or organizing groundbreaking events like this, CELSIUS keeps me energized and performing at my best. It’s a game-changer, just like what we do at MVP.”
