- Katie Taylor backed Mike Tyson to beat Jake Paul in their latest press conference
- Paul confronted Taylor and bet his entire wallet that he would beat Tyson
- Paul is expected to earn £31million by fighting Tyson in Texas on Friday night
Jake Paul is putting his money where his mouth is and betting his entire wallet with Katie Taylor that he will beat Mike Tyson when they finally face each other on Friday.
Paul and Tyson will face off in a fight streamed live on Netflix, and they went head-to-head in their final press conference on Wednesday night.
In what was largely a tame affair, the temperature in the room suddenly rose when the undercard fighters were asked to choose who would win the main event – and the majority tipped Tyson.
Paul was having none of it and rose to confront those supporting ‘Iron Mike’ to gain the upper hand.
One of Tyson’s backers was Irish icon Taylor, who will face Amanda Serrano, a fighter promoted by Paul, in the co-main event on Friday.

Paul asked Taylor, “How much do you want to bet?”
Taylor seemed a little hesitant before answering, “Want to bet with your wallet?”
Without a pause, Paul agreed as he confirmed, “Yes, let’s bet the wallet. Deal” before shaking Taylor’s hand.
Paul is expected to earn $40 million by fighting Tyson on what will be the biggest payday of his career.
But losing to the 58-year-old boxing legend would damage his career prospects in the ring and could be disastrous for his bank balance if he sticks to his bet with Taylor.
Paul is the favorite to emerge victorious, with many expecting him to be too fresh for Tyson considering he is 31 years his junior.
But Tyson is confident he will turn back the years to shock the world in his first professional fight in almost two decades.
Tyson remained calm for most of Wednesday’s press conference, but appeared irritated when a reporter brought up the prospect of losing.
“I won’t lose,” he shot back. Taylor will hope he is a man of his word.
