Jake Paul has revealed that pay-per-view ticket sales for his fight with ex-MMA star Anderson Silva flopped after his opponent revealed he was knocked out while sparring.
The YouTuber turned boxer defeated Silva for his sixth straight professional win on points in what was probably his toughest fight yet on Saturday night in Arizona.
The entertaining fight lasted eight rounds and the final round was a doozy, with a ferocious right hand from Paul sending Brazilian Silva to the canvas.

All three judges awarded Paul the first, fourth, six, seventh and eighth rounds of the fight, scoring a total of 78-73, 78-73, 77-74.
Despite his latest win, Paul was less than impressed with the number of tickets sold to see his fight, as he insists it was mainly due to the fight being put in jeopardy.
Silva admitted that he was knocked out while sparring several days before the fight, only to later reveal that he was mistaken and that he was just “knocked down.”
Paul admitted pay-per-view ticket sales ‘dropped’ after news about Silva came out
“The pre-buys went crazy,” said Paul on the… Impressive podcast. ‘Wednesday, when news came out that Anderson said he was knocked out’ [in sparring] or whatever, the battle was in jeopardy and all this press came out, the pre-buys stopped.
“The general public sees that and thinks it isn’t happening. Tommy withdrew, Hasim withdrew. Jake Paul can’t get an event together, this is done.
“It killed ticket sales, we were still selling tickets, but that day everything went to zero. It was so annoying.’

Not only did Silva’s news impact sales, Paul also believes the fight’s timing hasn’t helped with so many other things, including the MLB World Series.
“I think it will probably be around 200,000 to 300,000, which is quite disturbing,” added Paul.
‘Halloween, World Series and Sunday football. This is the worst time of the year to fight, but guess what, I had to fight.
“All my fights will be in the summer from now on, there will be no sports. There is such a perfect gorge in July and early August when there is no sport.
“All my other fights were during Covid when nobody had anything to do and nothing to watch. NBA, NFL, nothing happened. I had to fight this year, I just had to make it happen. I was tired of waiting.’
After his win, Paul called out boxing star Canelo Alvarez and UFC legend Nate Diaz, who was reportedly involved in an altercation with a member of Paul’s team during the fight.
